Sharing Down Syndrome Walk

*****Click HERE to register through the website for the Sharing Down Syndrome Walk!

All participants must be registered. Our team is called "Mountain Shadows DVUSD."

Location: Tempe Diablo Stadium, 2200 West Alameda Drive, Tempe, Arizona, 85282

Where to park: Parking is free in the Tempe Diablo Stadium lot. Follow the volunteers/signs when you arrive. Last year, the parking and entrance were on the EAST SIDE of the stadium.

Suggested items to bring: Water, sun protection (sunscreen, hat, and/or umbrellas), snacks for your family, camera, wagon or stroller for young children

Helpful to know: The bathrooms in the stadium are open throughout the event. They are relatively nice (for stadium bathrooms). You may want to bring sanitizer in case they are out of soap.

Items NOT allowed: pets, bikes, scooters, skates or skateboards

Safety recommendation: You may want to put a sticker with your name and cell number on the back of any child you bring in case a child becomes separated from your group. You are responsible for all members of your group. This is a community event that is not sponsored by the school.

Scheduling:

7:30 am– Registration and light Continental Breakfast

8:15 am– Our group will gather together at the bottom of the bleachers nearest the entrance. (I anticipate that this will be the east side of the ballpark unless the entrance is in a different place this year). If you can’t find the group, call or text Jess’ cell phone: 480-277-3872. We’ll take a quick picture before the walk begins.

8:30 amFlag and Awards Ceremony

9:00 am– The walk begins. It’s a short walk (stroller and wagon friendly) around the stadium that takes about 10-15 minutes. According to Sharing Down Syndrome, all people of all abilities should be comfortable on the walk. The walk portion is sunny, so you might want shade like hats or an umbrella.

Post walk: Post Walk activities will include fun and games with bouncers, carnival games, and dancing to the music of DJ Ron, and much more. Also, meet Super Hero Friends. Stop by exhibitor booths to learn more about the activities, resources, and services available in our community.

The event ends at 11:00 am (or whenever your family is ready)
